About a week ago I posted some pics of Bailey’s hair all done up in Zulu Knots on our Facebook and Instagram pages, including an image of the finished product. This is a quick and easy way to get some nice curls for a day, without using an iron, curlers or even hairspray.
All it takes is a comb, damp hair, a few rubber bands, and about 10 minutes or less to get them tied. I do it before bedtime and when Bailey wakes up, she has instant curls.
You can tie as many knots as you like. If you want a lighter, wavy curl look, do fewer knots. If you prefer really tight curls just add more knots.
When I posted the pics, several people said they were curious to see how this was done so I promised a video. I know, it’s been a week, but honestly, until last night, we had not had a chance to sit down and do this, since I posted the original pics.
I know, sounds crazy, right, but that’s really how things go around here sometimes.
Anyways, without further delay, here you go, as promised: a video of how to do Zulu Knots. Please let us know if it works for you and share your comments or images with us here or on our Facebook Page.

very cool idea. I love that you don’t need to use a curling iron or sprays etc. My only question is how does she sleep on it? I don’t think my girls would want to sleep that way, otherwise I would love to try it.

It really just depends on where you place them. If you position the knots more towards the top of the head and not on the side they won’t feel them as much. Honestly, Bailey says they don’t really bother her and she has gotten used to it.
