A day without baseball is like a bowl without ice cream: empty.
We hadn’t been out to our second home, aka the Evergreen Little League fields, since early July. So, with summer vacation about to end and the two oldest already participating in school activities all week, I decided to take the four youngest to the fields for a little baseball fun.
They were a little rusty but we didn’t take it too seriously and they all took turns working on their skills, and of course, some goofing off. Most of all they just had fun playing together and I enjoyed it because I didn’t have to listen them tell me how bored they were all morning.
Heck, I’ll trade restless kids who can’t entertain themselves at home, for a couple hours at the diamond under a beautiful blue sky, any day. Even our little one got a few reps in as she prepares to officially kick off her Little League career next spring with some exciting t-ball action. Play ball!
